barghouti-plans

The main goal while designing the plaza was to find a method of connection between unseen spaces, both the adjacent Barghouti Palace and an additional adjacent plaza space. While it was important to keep the main plaza open for events frequently held by the village, the design was intended to create interest and a park-like atmosphere for its many nearby residents. The conclusion was to utilize vegetation; more specifically the installation of two main shaded areas which became like droplets in a pond, creating ripples through the space that would be evident in both the adjacent plaza and the palace courtyard. The rings permeate outward, usurping each space with their movement and emphasizing the center of the village and main plaza.
