hostel plans

In the southernmost city of Palestine, this hostel provides rentable space for local and international visitors. The work occurred in three phases, beginning with the reconstruction of the exterior vaults, followed by the overall interior and exterior renovation, and culminated with the tiling of the central courtyard. The extensive amount of steelwork involved provided an opportunity for a unifying design concept—weaving. Initiating with the predominant feature that enclosed the courtyard, then wrapping around the existing ruins of the Roman and Ottoman period wall, the concept continued into the handrail design, public doors and main gate.
