In conjunction with a Land Ethics course, this studio focused on Tucson’s nearby Sonoran desert habitat and different ecological approaches.

This building incorporates rammed earth walls and footprint minimizing pylons placed delicately in the adjacent arroyo. This site was chosen because the arroyo funnels cool air in the desert, as well as water, and the construction was intended to preserve the native landscape as much as possible.
